Andrew and Kate Owens are optimistic, cheerful and committed to Roots, their Globalscope ministry to university students in Edinburgh, Scotland, which is saying a lot after nearly two years of pandemic upheaval.
Philip Linkous describes his experience at Christian Campus Fellowship while a student at Georgia Tech as “coming back to Jesus, growing in my faith and wanting to give back.” The mechanical engineering graduate was recruited to serve with Globalscope’s campus ministry in Santiago, Chile, and joined the team in 2010.
Miles Costello found a place of healing at Christian Campus Fellowship (CCF) during a difficult time in his life as a student at Georgia Tech University. The experience led him to a career in campus ministry — after earning his bachelor’s degree in business and finance and a Master of Divinity at Emmanuel Christian Seminary — so that he could help provide that space for international students.
As their university term came to an end, students in the Globalscope Canvas ministry in Birmingham, England, finally were able to spend time in person together. So, the Canvas team — Tom and Jenna Gallant, Luke Caldwell and Taylor Batte — decided to show the students how much they are loved and valued with a “Week of Fun.”
Andrew grew up attending and volunteering at his church for many years, but it was his time as a student and an intern at the Georgia Tech Christian Campus Fellowship that he says, “altered the course of my life.”
Steve and Debbie Palich have spent their lives introducing people to Jesus Christ, connecting them to the Church and engaging them with God’s work around the world.
And while the energetic couple’s service with CMF — which began in 1990 and has continued to their retirement from full-time work this month — is now transitioning into a part-time role for Steve, their passion for the goals that have focused their lives remains strong.
Ruben Coliman first met Jesus and became a Christian at El Oasis in Santiago, Chile. Now he wants to return to Santiago to share God’s love with other students.
As a student in the Georgia Tech Christian Campus Fellowship, Andrew knew many people who have served with Globalscope campus ministries and was impressed with the impact it had on their lives. One in particular had served in Freiburg, Germany, and Andrew felt called to join the team there as a campus minister.
