Taking God’s Trip to Kenya

Dr. Suzie Snyder spent 16 years as a missionary with CMF providing medical care and sharing the love of Christ with the Maasai people of Kenya. Suzie, her husband, and a group of healthcare professionals recently traveled to Kenya and served the Maasai in a number of ways. For several months, only she and her husband had signed up for the trip they were trying to organize, but she put it in God’s hands, calling it “God’s Trip.” Soon they would have a wonderful team from across the U.S. raising funds and preparing to go. Here are Suzie’s reflections on the trip and returning to where she served for so many years:

Teaching as Missions: A Unique Way to Serve Internationally

Did you know that there are many ways to serve in international missions, beyond the more traditional sense of planting churches? One of the many roles to play as an international missionary is teacher. For years, CMF has partnered with Bingham Academy, a Christian school in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, sending qualified teachers to educate students from Ethiopia and all over the world, sharing the love of Jesus in this way. Several other CMF missionaries have taught in other contexts all over the world, from local schools to homeschooling other missionaries’ children.

Starting University in the U.S.: Resources from a Third Culture Kid Coordinator

This blog is written by Kait Jones, CMF’s Third Culture Kid Coordinator  

I love my job as the TCK Care Coordinator here at CMF. Even more, I love who I get to serve in that job. One group of people that I have recently been asked to focus on and serve very intentionally is high school seniors transitioning to their freshman year of college. I was asked to do a mini seminar for one high school senior as he has not spent much time in the States, and his parents will be staying on the field and so will be unavailable to be there physically to help him with this transition. I was nervous! I care a lot and want each one of our TCKs to thrive.

Marketplace Mexico’s training impacts local tortilleria

The Marketplace Mexico team has been hard at work reaching local entrepreneurs in Mexico City, largely through the nine-week training program, Aspire, that they lead. This program is geared toward helping new entrepreneurs create a business model and apply business principles that reflect a biblical, people-before-profit worldview.
