Following the Call from Oregon to England
A young Christian seeking God’s best for their life often begins to listen for His leading during university. That was true for me in the summer of 1985.

REACH internships are an opportunity for young people to see and experience life and ministry on the mission field firsthand and it’s been a part of CMF’s work for over 30 years. Why is an internship program such an integral part of what we do? Two reasons!
For over thirty years, CMF has been sending teams of young adults to serve for 8 weeks each summer alongside long-term CMF ministries. Through a mentored and guided experience, interns are given the opportunity to come and learn about missions in a hands-on context. Interns are trained before they serve and are given space to process their experience and what God might be calling them to next after returning from the field.
“Not everyone is called to go, but everyone is called to wrestle with going.” It was those words from David Platt at a conference her freshman year of college that convicted Anna Thormodsgard and started her missions journey.
Exciting changes are taking place in the CMF office in Indianapolis! Several of our long-time staff members are taking on new roles to better serve our missionaries now and into the future.
Erin Wallace is currently raising support to move to Ivory Coast where she will be serving with the PIM Clinic and Women Together programs. One of her greatest passions is living relationally and helping remind others of their worth, especially women and young girls. She is excited to be able to combine this passion with her work in Ivory Coast as she learns and lives in this new culture and way of life.
“A few weeks ago, I woke up to find two goats staring me in the face,” said REACH intern Luke Floyd. And that was just the first of many adventures for Luke, as he spent June and July in the desert of Turkana, Kenya.
Rylie Farr is amazed at all the incredible opportunities she’s had to do hands-on ministry during her time in Ivory Coast as a REACH intern.
Her team has focused on four different areas of the CMF work in the Abengourou area: the PIM Clinic; a home stay with an Ivorian family;
Farm chores, animal care, Disciple Making Ministry (DMM) trainings and Community Health Evangelism (CHE) are just a few of the ways that REACH interns Zach Hunter and Morgan Truitt are serving with the CMF team in Turkana, Kenya, this summer.
Purdue University student Emma Keesling is making the most of her REACH summer internship in a partnership with CMF, Missions of Hope International, Nairobi, Kenya, and AgriStewards, Lebanon, Indiana.
