Introducing Emprende31: A New Identity with a Timeless Mission

For years, our team working with entrepreneurs in Mexico City prayed for a name and identity that truly reflected who they were becoming. Their work had been steadily forming since 2021—shaped, refined, and strengthened through seasons of building and rebuilding. What began as a temporary name, “Marketplace México,” served as a starting point, but everyone sensed that something more fitting was still ahead.

Recently, that long‑awaited step finally arrived.

As the team reconsidered its vision and mission, they also began praying specifically for a new name—one that captured the heart of their work with entrepreneurs and young professionals in the city. At the same time, long‑delayed progress in their legal formation suddenly broke open, confirming that the moment had come. The door was wide open for a new chapter.

After months of prayer and reflection, God led them to a name that felt both fresh and deeply rooted:

Emprende31

The word Emprende doesn’t directly translate into English. Often connected to the idea of “undertaking,” it comes from the same root as entrepreneur (emprendedor). It reflects action, initiative, and the courage to begin something meaningful.

The number 31 anchors the name in a powerful biblical framework: Proverbs 31.

While this passage is commonly associated with women’s ministry, it also offers one of Scripture’s clearest pictures of godly entrepreneurial leadership. Read through the lens of business and vocation, Proverbs 31 outlines values every entrepreneur can embody—diligence, generosity, wise investment, operational excellence, community engagement, and leadership grounded in character.

It’s a holistic blueprint for anyone seeking to integrate faith, work, and impact.

That’s why Emprende31 fits so well. It gives this ministry a north star—one that will shape its programming, discipleship, and community engagement for years to come. Many of its values were already woven into the ministry’s programs, but the new identity provides clarity and inspiration, offering students a vision of what it means to lead with purpose.

Moving forward, one guiding question will shape every decision:
“Will this help our community grow toward becoming Emprende31 Entrepreneurs?”

For Christian participants, this opens the door to deeper conversations about honoring God through business and leadership. For students exploring faith, it provides a compelling framework for discussing purpose, values, service, and the kind of leadership that brings good into the world.

Emprende31 marks the beginning of a new season—one rooted in Scripture, shaped by prayer, and built for impact.
