In the midst of a country caught up in civil war, the Gospel
is taking root and bringing the Prince of Peace to troubled
people. Damon & Juli Jones and Andy & Stephanie Gable
serve out of Abengourou in evangelism, church planting, and
leadership training among the two million Agni and Attie people.
Thirteen churches have already been started, and are visited
regularly to encourage the leaders and assist in the teaching.
A training center has also been established to provide intensive
courses, so these congregations will be led primarily by prepared
ministers and leaders.
Juli Jones works with Dr. Bernie & Kelly Bledsoe and Henry
& Yvette Buregea at the CMF pediatric clinic in Abengourou.
This clinic meets the health needs of local children and expecting
mothers, as well as providing contact with the Djoula-speaking
people. They are partnering with the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric
AIDS Foundation in the care of those people living with HIV
and AIDS. To date, of the 837 patients they have screened for HIV, 227 are positive and almost half of those are on antiretroviral therapy.
The Bledsoes, Buregeas, and Judy Fish are using Community Health
Evangelism (CHE) to mobilize the villages surrounding Abengourou
to fight against this horrific disease and bring about transformation
in each community. Judy also works in CHE with FAME clinics
in Ghana.

The Joneses are learning the Djoula language, visiting courtyards,
and finding success in using Chronological Bible Storytelling
to begin evangelism/church planting among these unreached Muslim
people. They will work in tandem with a new CMF team in Burkina
Faso that will focus on the Djoula people.
