Two Decades of Impact — and a Bold Vision for the Future
Two of our Globalscope campus ministries have remarkably similar stories. El Pozo in Puebla, Mexico, and En Vivo in Salamanca, Spain, were both launched 20 years ago by a group of friends. These recent college graduates formed two different teams and, within two weeks of each other, set out to start new ministries, sharing the highs and lows of planting together. Today, both ministries are still thriving.
Some of the CMF missionaries who helped launch those teams are still serving with Globalscope in those same countries today. Courtney Wilson still serves at the ministry she helped launch in Puebla and Jesse and Sophie Bentley were part of the original team in Salamanca and continue their work in Spain.
Jesse shared, “When Sophie and I moved to Spain in 2004, we were excited about the beginning of this journey but were also nervous about the 4-year commitment we had made as part of our launch team. Yet as each year passed, we felt God nudging us to stay around to continue to see the fruit that faithfulness would bring. Personally, I kept telling God that I was willing to return home or do something else if He put a bigger burden on my heart other than that of seeing college students come to know Jesus. So far, He hasn’t, so here were are!”

Now, both teams are using their 20th anniversaries as catalysts for future growth.
In Spain, there are currently two thriving En Vivo ministries, but the team has a bold vision for the next 20 years: to launch new ministries, support local workers, purchase property, and meet current needs. Their goal is to multiply into five healthy, long-term, fully funded missionary teams in Spain by 2035.
In Puebla, after 18 incredible years in their beloved ministry house, the team faced a major change. In August 2023, they moved to a new location. While the transition was challenging, it’s turned out to be a blessing. The new house is directly across the street from the major university they serve. Now, they've been given an extraordinary opportunity to purchase this home—allowing them to put down permanent roots in Puebla, secure the future of El Pozo, and launch a new team to Guanajuato.

We thank God for 20 years of intertwined, life-changing ministry and the potential for so much more! That’s two decades of free meals, coffee in the streets, worship nights, small groups, Bible studies, cookouts, and more. Most importantly, we’re celebrating 20 years of creating safe spaces where students can explore their faith and discover a God who loves them.
