As Gary and Judy Woods watched young Daniel grow up in Nkiito, Kenya, they knew he had been blessed with special gifts. That promise was fulfilled recently when the young boy – now a married man, father and teacher – graduated from medical school and became Dr. Daniel Koitatoi.
“We watched him grow up and he was obviously very smart,” said CMF team member Gary Woods, who was serving in Kenya at that time. “He was the number one student in preschool through grade eight, and did very well in secondary school, too.”
When a trusted mentor told KK Johnson that Globalscope would be “KK-friendly,” she jumped at the chance to affiliate with CMF and return to her beloved Thailand and the Grapevine campus ministry. A REACH internship in micro-finance projects in Kenya drew business graduate Josh Durand to a role in a new CMF Marketplace Ministries initiative. Christmas in Dandenong, Australia, looks a lot different from the holiday in Michigan, where CMF team member Abby Weller is from, but she says it’s still her favorite time of year.

Raelyn Nicholson’s background and degrees in both nursing and teaching make her the perfect person to serve as the Health Quality Assurance Coordinator of Missions of Hope International (MOHI) in Kenya. After serving there for a year, she visited the CMF office to re-commit to going back for another term and shared what keeps her going in the face of overwhelming need.

Recent Georgia Tech graduate Lauren Hessler thought she was going to start looking for a great job as a biomedical engineer, but instead she’s going to serve college students at the Roots campus ministry in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Mitchell grew up as the son of CMF missionaries Todd and Tonja Hancock in Mexico, so his fluency in Spanish will be a huge asset to the campus ministry team in Salamanca, Spain. In addition, his Milligan College degree that focused on photojournalism and graphic design will aid the team in its ministry to university students.
