Move vital ministry forward by giving where needed most.

Indonesia

Indonesia is the world’s most populous Muslim-majority nation. About 80 percent of its 232 million people are Muslim, while 15 percent are listed as Christian and 5 percent as Evangelical. Two of the most public facets of CMF’s work here are related to education.

Christian Church Theological School of Indonesia

The Christian Church Theological School of Indonesia (CCTSI) was established in the early 1990s to provide leadership training for Indonesian Christians. It is based on a campus with classrooms, dorms, multi-purpose area, library, and offices in Salatiga. Missionaries and Indonesian leaders provide the administration and teaching. During the three- to four-year program at CCTSI students learn basic Bible principles that prepare them for effective ministry. Emphasis is placed on each student’s own spiritual growth, as well as how to disciple others, with many opportunities to minister in area village churches on weekends. The students learn how to win others to Christ and how to begin evangelistic Bible studies that lead to the formation of a new church, which they must do prior to graduation.

Over the past 25 years, 185 students have graduated from CCTSI, most with a Bachelor of Theology degree. Students come from all over Indonesia, and are sent out into places in their nation, especially among unreached people groups, where the gospel has not been heard.

Mountainview Christian School

Mountainview International Christian School was developed through the efforts of missionaries to meet their children’s educational needs. Missionary families and business leaders from many nations send their children to MICS for an excellent education. MICS “partners with parents, sending agencies, the Christian community and the Church to train up and educate children in a Christ-centered environment at an affordable cost.”

The teachers at Mountainview also minister directly to the students from both business and mission families of many nationalities, discipling Christian students. They also reach out to those from non-Christian backgrounds, many of whom come to know Jesus. God is using the school to bless the students as they prepare to face the challenges ahead of them and to impact their world for Christ.
