Philippines

The Philippines is an island nation in Southeast Asia made up of more than 7,000 islands and home to more than 110 million people. It is one of the most urbanized and rapidly developing countries in the region, with a large youth population and more than 3 million students enrolled in higher education. Christianity plays a significant role in Filipino culture, with more than 90 percent of the population identifying as Christian and nearly 80 percent as Roman Catholic. While faith is highly visible in society, many university students are still searching for authentic community, purpose, and a personal relationship with Christ.

Encounter is the Globalscope ministry in the Philippines. Since 1992, Encounter has been reaching university students through relationship-based ministry and a commitment to sharing the gospel on campus. Today, the ministry serves students on three strategic campuses in Baguio, Dagupan, and La Trinidad, helping young adults encounter Jesus and grow as His disciples.

The Encounter team is committed to reaching students with the gospel, discipling them through meaningful relationships, and equipping them to make disciples of all nations. Through campus outreach, mentoring, Bible studies, and community-building activities, Encounter creates opportunities for students to explore faith, deepen their walk with Christ, and develop as leaders who will influence their campuses, churches, and communities.

As a Globalscope ministry, Encounter is investing in the next generation of Christ-centered leaders in the Philippines. Through the faithful partnership of supporters, the ministry can continue serving students across its campuses and helping young people discover a lifelong mission of following Jesus and making Him known.
