Gene and Melba Morden arrived in the Turkana desert in 1995, called by God to a challenging ministry in a difficult place. Nearly 25 years later, the couple recently had the satisfying experience of hearing many of the people they served express the amazing impact the Mordens had on their families and communities.

Seventy-two campus ministers gathered in Cholula, Puebla, Mexico, in July for Globalscope’s annual Celebration. Members of the Globalscope steering committee, CMF staffers, invited guests, and children brought the total to 121 CMF-related people who were together in Cholula for the entire week.

Tyler and Katie Selby and their children Ruby and Joanna serve with CMF’s team in Ethiopia, where they live in a “village” of 200,000 people with minimal infrastructure. They visited our Indianapolis home office recently and shared some thoughts about their eventful first term of ministry.

As she closed out her summer as a REACH intern with Grapevine, the Globalscope campus ministry in Bangkok, Thailand, Burgundy Zorn reflected on some of the events that helped her realize that her stay, while brief, had made a difference for God.

The group of eight from Eastside Christian Church, Anaheim, Calif., who served at the Namikango Mission in Malawi recently were “a perfect team, full of enthusiasm and flexibility,” said CMF team member Ryan Hayes.

Brett McClain didn’t grow up in the church but connected with God at Christian Campus Fellowship at Georgia Tech. He’s now an experienced campus minister after serving with CCF for the past two years and is passionate about it. He knows the kind of life change that can happen there, “because it happened to me!”

About 50 children attended the kids’ camp led by Leah Scharfenberg and the CMF team in Berdyansk, Ukraine, and spent the week praising the Lord, learning about the life of Paul and memorizing Bible verses.

Discovery Bible Studies are having a big impact in the ministry of the La Zona Community Center led by CMF team members Misael and Yola Cruz in Mexico City.
