Planned Giving

Make an Impact through Planned Giving
Many CMF partners choose to extend their impact by including CMF International in their will, trust, or beneficiary designations. Consider designating CMF International to receive a portion or all your assets after your lifetime in the following ways:
Bequests
In your will or revocable living trust, you may name CMF as a beneficiary for a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate. A gift to CMF through your estate may qualify for a charitable deduction under current law, where estate tax applies.
CMF also partners with Financial Planning Ministry (FPM) to offer estate planning seminars that help you create or update a will or trust that reflects your values and priorities. Many partners are able to complete their planning at no cost through this service.

Life Insurance
You may designate CMF as a beneficiary of your retirement accounts—such as IRAs, 401(k)s, and 403(b)s—by completing a simple form with your plan administrator. This allows you to designate a percentage or all of the remaining balance for CMF after your lifetime.
Because charities do not pay income tax, retirement assets left directly to CMF can be a very tax-efficient way to give and may reduce the tax burden on your estate under current law. Updating a beneficiary designation is quick, flexible, and can be changed at any time.
Retirement Accounts
Consider naming CMF as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy by designating a percentage or all of the death benefit. This is a simple way to make a meaningful gift without affecting your current finances.
Some partners also choose to transfer ownership of an existing policy to CMF, which may offer tax benefits under current IRS rules if you itemize deductions. Your insurance professional can guide you through the option that best fits your situation.
