West African ‘Timothy’ is new missionary in Ivory Coast
A young West African man who has been mentored by CMF teammates Brian Hauser and Ken Hoch, has taken the big step to serve as a missionary, answering the call from the church association in Ivory Coast to go to an unreached area in that country.
“We had the privilege to teach and mentor Esaie in ministry over the last five years,” said Brian. “He has watched and helped us with Bible Storying, Community Health Evangelism and Farming God’s Way. We have taught him the courses from the training program of our churches in Ivory Coast. He is our ‘Timothy,’ but we are just a small part of all the ways God has shaped him for ministry.”
Many local pastors from other Christian faith groups also had a role in Esaie’s development, and they recently traveled great distances for his send-off. Several Muslim friends, who know Esaie from our farming village or our Bible Storying groups, also attended.
“It was the first time any of them had ever stepped into a church,” said Brian. “Their consensus was being pleasantly surprised, saying, ‘I didn’t know church was like this!’ ”
Esaie and his older brother will spend some time at his home village before he begins his work in Adzope, Ivory Coast.
“Please pray with us that God will sustain and mentor Esaie in this new ministry and bless it with fruitfulness,” said Brian.
