Kids’ camp in Ukraine shares the gospel with many first-timers

About 50 children attended the kids’ camp led by Leah Scharfenberg and the CMF team in Berdyansk, Ukraine, and spent the week praising the Lord, learning about the life of Paul and memorizing Bible verses.

Leah Scharfenberg, missionary in Ukraine, leads the English song time at a kids’ camp this summer.

“I was a little nervous to head up the English portion of the camp,” said Leah, “but things went really great! I think we made the English learning fun for the kids, as well as educational. We sang songs in English, played games, and introduced vocabulary that coincided with the camp theme of being on the ‘Right Road.’ ”

Of the 50 kids at camp, 23 were from non-Christian households, and 13 were there for the very first time, Leah reported.

Bible study and Scripture memorization were important parts of the kid’s camp in Ukraine.

“I’m so glad I got to be a part of them hearing the good news!” said Leah. “And thanks to my ministry partners, the camp was completely paid for through their financial support. Thanks, partners, for making this happen!”
