Globalscope students on the road: Ideas and inspiration

Several Globalscope campus ministry students have recently stepped up to visit other Globalscope teams for varying lengths of time to gather ideas and inspiration to take back home. Globalscope Assistant Director Kami Reed shares two students’ stories and perspectives here, along with comments from their home ministry leaders.

Fraser, student from Roots in Edinburgh, Scotland, who served in Tübingen, Germany

“It was an amazing two weeks in a beautiful place with awesome people getting to see what God is doing in Tübingen. It was great to share both with Unterwegs and Roots what each of them do.”

Andrew Owens, campus minister, Roots, Scotland

“Fraser spending two weeks at Unterwegs really changed something in him. He came back with dreams for how he wanted to see Roots changed. I think him seeing another Globalscope gave him permission to dream those dreams.”

Cami Vilanova, study abroad intern from Uruguay, who served in Brisbane, Australia

“For me, doing this exchange program has been a unique experience. I met a ton of marvelous people, learned about different cultures, experienced how God works in the community creating unexplainably beautiful connections, and traveled to beautiful places. Personally, it has helped me grow and know myself. Also, I have faced new challenges, like learning a new language and developing patience. Above all, this experience has made my faith grow. I recommend it 100% and I am so grateful!”

Cami spent a semester abroad with The Garden team in Brisbane.

Claudia Ossa, campus minister, La Ruta, Montevideo, Uruguay

“Meeting Cami has been a blessing for every member of the La Ruta team. Now that she’s in Australia, it is a burst of happiness for our hearts! Seeing her journey from the very beginning at La Ruta and now to see who she has become is a perfect picture of the hand and grace of God. I feel very blessed to be able to witness with my own eyes how Jesus is entering her heart.”
