Evangelist faces strong resistance starting churches in Ethiopia
Ethiopian evangelist Obo Lemessa had a great weekend recently, baptizing nine people in the team’s outreach area of Becho, but it wasn’t without some challenges.
“Lemessa is an evangelist on our team,” said CMF team member Craig Fowler, “and he also trains new evangelists and leaders in the many new churches we have started in this mostly Muslim area.
“His trip to Becho went well, but after the baptisms some local Muslim leaders closed the road as he tried to drive to another new church in Yayo,” said Craig. “They tried to initiate a conflict with Lemesa, while he explained that he’s only sharing the gospel, and isn’t involved in any political activity.”
You can hear the whole story, including what happened next, from Lemessa himself in the video with Craig Fowler below.
