Creation Care kids’ camp is big success in West Africa

Sixty-three children from the community where CMF’s West Africa team serves enjoyed a four-week Creation Care Camp this summer, reports team member Sara Garringer.

The camp was led by members of the CMF team and several community volunteers.

“We shared the Bible stories of creation with the kids while introducing them to current creation care issues, such as deforestation, animal extinction, and plastic use,” said Sara. “The goal was to help them understand how they can be better stewards of all that God has created and given us.”

The children enjoyed the activity of planting their own Moringa tree seeds that they got to take home when camp ended.

“As the school year now begins here, I’m trusting God to open up doors at the schools to hold after-school clubs for these children,” said Sara. “These, in turn, will lead to opportunities for Bible storying with their extended families at home.”
