An old Tanzanian Christian man wept openly for joy as he met the first Hadzabe Christians ever known. In just six months, two churches have been planted among this people with a combined 65 converts! Maasai church planters in two villages are reporting that there are now 100 people in attendance at these churches with over 50 ready and waiting to be baptized! They’re waiting for ample water. Unreached people in the remote areas of northern Tanzania, such as the Hadzabe and Maasai, are hearing the Gospel for the first time.

Church planters (Kenyans and Tanzanians) are being trained at the CMF mission center near Arusha. Todd & Tami Carter, Scott & Annelle Price, and Gary & Judy Woods provide instruction in the Bible, Community Health Evangelism, and literacy to prepare families for the church-planting task ahead of them. We thank God for the faithfulness and dedication of our church planters who continue to persevere in their work!

A city of 270,000 people, Arusha bustles with tourists and locals, but has all of the problems associated with a growing urban area in a poor country. Because of the city’s many needs, Pam McKerring (with teammates coming in 2007) is beginning a new outreach among the poor in Arusha. Using Community Health Evangelism, the focus will be on transformation of individual lives as well as in the slum communities. In Arusha, Kendra Woods serves the team as the field business administrator.
