Rustin Hamann of Flatirons Community Church, Lafayette, Colo., always wanted to do mission work, but didn’t know what that looked like for him. Then he visited the La Ruta campus ministry in Montevideo, Uruguay, saw a highly relational ministry in action, and he was hooked. Students in Montevideo come from all over the country, and as La Ruta becomes their home, the campus ministers become an active presence in their lives.
Amanda Dunn works with young women rescued from trafficking, prostitution and poverty in the Kore slums of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She raised funds and opened Hareg House, a residential training facility that offers a Christ-centered rehabilitation and jobs-training program.
Aaron and Diane Lincoln have been CMF team members since 1993, so they are well-acquainted with the ups and downs of serving in a cross-cultural setting. They currently work in Rugby, England, planting missional communities and training new disciples.
Three Globalscope campus ministries in Great Britain — Canvas Birmingham, Canvas Nottingham, and Roots in Edinburgh — came together recently for a weekend retreat with about 80 people.
