Euroscope brings campus ministers together to strengthen community

Euroscope, the annual gathering of Globalscope campus ministers serving in Europe, was held in Nottingham, England, in April, and Christine Barber and her team can now breathe a sigh of relief that all went well.

Christine, who is the leader for the Canvas Nottingham team, says that they started planning and preparing for the event back in August 2018.

“We had 48 adults and 10 children attend this year,” she said. “Our goal for the event is always to develop and strengthen community among the campus ministers in all of the European locations in Germany, England, Scotland and Spain.

“We had two speakers, both of whom are in leadership at Trinity Church Nottingham, where many of our team members attend church,” she added. “But one of the greatest parts about Euroscope is just being together.”

Will Foulger, one of the speakers, was impressed with the gathering.

“It was an utter privilege to share some thoughts over the two days of Euroscope, not least because I so respect the work the team is doing day to day and I have a lot of love for Christine and the team. It was encouraging to see people praying individually and for one another,” he said.

Will notes that the shared communion service was a particular highlight of the event.

“Communion was a moment of sharing together, wherever we’ve come from and whatever we’ve experienced or were going back to, we receive from the same source,” he said. “The Globalscopers have a DNA of encouragement and welcome, and it’s a vital thing as we continue to pray and work for God’s kingdom to come across Europe.”
