When the chef bowed out 24 hours before the community-wide food event sponsored by Companions for Hope (CfH) in Birmingham, England, the team could have panicked! But instead, they used the hitch to make the event even better.
“Soccer is king in Africa,” says CMF team member Eric Gephart, and it’s hard to go too far in a conversation in Malawi, where he serves, without the subject making an appearance. So, Namikango Mission has launched a project that will use this passion to generate income for the Mission while providing a much-needed service for the community.
Tyler and Katie Selby and their children Ruby and Joanna serve with CMF’s team in Ethiopia, where they live in a “village” of 200,000 people with minimal infrastructure. They visited our Indianapolis home office recently and shared some thoughts about their eventful first term of ministry.
The group of eight from Eastside Christian Church, Anaheim, Calif., who served at the Namikango Mission in Malawi recently were “a perfect team, full of enthusiasm and flexibility,” said CMF team member Ryan Hayes.
